On November 11 Shyanna, Tiffany, and I walked to the blackroom to watch our fellow friends perform at a lab band concert. I have never been to one before so I was very excited to attend. When I was on the way there I could hear the music from Snyder, and when I finally got inside it was like a mini concert right here on campus! I was surprised that more people were not there because you could probably hear the music everywhere on campus. I really enjoyed this event, and I am planning on going to the next. Also, I highly recommend that you guys all attend at least one lab band concert. You will not be disappointed!
You should start a new blog post to explain the events you have attended this year.

About a week ago I went to the Jansen Hall dance and dinner with Shawn Goff. It was out at field house and everything was really pretty. The food was great and the dancing was fun. I ate alfredo, salad and bread with sweet tea. It reminded me of a high school prom which was weird and fun all at the same time.
Leah Janes

I have attended the free Methodist church as frequently as I. It reminds me a lot of the church I went to back home. The music, though, is different. Back home our music is much more get out of your seat and dance kind of music. Our worship leader is African American so he likes to see just how energetic the congregation can get. The preaching is very similar along with the basic core ideas and beliefs.
This picture was taken when I went to the Christian church about a month or so ago. I put this one up because I did take a picture at the other church.

Without Ceasing
So I'm going to start off by saying thay I am not the best taker of selfies; but none the less, Without Ceasing was a great event. Coming together for the whole night to worship and pray is a good way to grow closer as a community and to grow our relationships spiritually. I recommend for people to attend the next one!

Grill & Chill
This past September, I attended the Multicultural organization Grill & Chill. We drove down to Patriot's Park, had some really delicious food, and had fun hanging out with friends, enjoying the outdoors. Although it was extremely hot outside, I still had a great time interacting with some new people. Unfortunately, it started pouring rain in the middle of the event, so everyone had to leave a little earlier than expected. Regardless, it was a great night.
GC Football
This past September, I attended my first ever Greenville football game with a few of my teammates. I actually got to work the game as a ball handler on the GC sideline, and it was definitely a new experience. I didn't really know any of the football players very well so I felt really out of place at first. I eventually got the hang of it and I ended up really enjoying the experience. Plus, I got points for my Intro to Sports Management class. I love how the football team gathers together with the fans after the game to share "put ups" and to recognize the family and friends that came out to support the team.
Art Walk
This past September, several of my friends, teammates, and I all went downtown Greenville for the annual art walk. I enjoyed all of the many varieties of art on display along the streets. There were several small tents set up along the streets selling homemade crafts, clothing, and bakery items. I enjoy going to community events in Greenville because it reminds me that there is life outside of our campus. I had a great time socializing and walking along the art walk. I'm sure I'll be back next year.
All Campus Senate Meeting
On November 6th I walked over to the DC to attend the all campus senate meeting at 9:30 pm with Mackenzie Burris, Shyanna Kelley, and Anna Pinkerton. Several people attended this event, and I am not sure if it was for the free cookies, or to get a picture for their scrap blog but I was surprised by the number of people that showed up. This event was not what I expected at all. The changes they want to make a Greenvile seemed to be a little over their head, so all their proposals came off as hypotheticals. The only reason I went to this event was so I could voice my opinion on certain areas that I believe need improving at Greenville. When the floor was opened up to the audience Shyanna brought up an issue that we had been hoping someone could change. That issue was more fruit in the DC! Even after explaining to them our thoughts they still did not seem to take it very serious. I have come to the conclusion that I will not be attending another Senate meeting because it seemed like a joke, for lack of a better word.

Christian Church Serivce
Towards the beginning of the school year, I went to First Christian Church of Greenville with most of the girls of 2nd Burritt West. The church was similar to my home church except much larger. I go to a Southern Baptist church of about 115 people, while FCC has about 300 attendees on a regular Sunday. The sermon was about friendship, and how the kind of friends you surround yourself with can affect your future. The pastor used the same phrase several times to really drive the point home. "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future." I really enjoyed attending FCC and I plan on going there for Sunday worship the rest of the year.
